Hazrat Abdullah ibn Amr Ra says that the Prophet said: A person who is disturbed in his sleep should recite these words:

amulet-hadith

So that dream will not harm him at all, Your grandsons say: If any of Hazrat Abdullah’s children reached adulthood, you would have taught him these words. And if he was a minor, you used to hang this prayer around his neck.

(Sunan Abu Dawud and Tirmidhi, with reference to Mishqat, p. 217)

The Amulet meaning of Taweez is to seek refuge from Allah and this word is derived from “Auzubillah Minashaitan Nirajeem“. Which is a prayer to seek refuge from Allah.
It should be remembered that if the amulet contains verses of the Quran or any name of Allah, then it cannot be un-Islamic. However, if there are words written on a piece of paper in which help is sought from someone other than Allah, then it is forbidden. All Sunni scholars consider taweez of the verses of the Qur’an to be permissible, while some scholars do not consider taweez to be valid.
A person may or may not believe the Qur’anic Amulet to be correct, but since ancient times till today, many diseases have been cured by means of the Qur’anic Amulet.
If there were no spiritual blessings of the Quranic Amulet or if the Quranic Amulet was un-Islamic, then it would not have existed from the early days of Islam till today.
Those who call Amulet haram do not consider wazifa to be valid either.
Wazifa is a Dua and some people do not recite dua after prayer, the reason being that they consider reciting dua after prayer as wazifa.
While Tasbah Fatimah is also a wazifa.
